Finance Manager

Qualifications Required:

• Postgraduate degree in Accounting
• Completed articles with a recognised South African Accounting body
• Valid drivers license and own vehicle
• Must have own laptop

Skills and Experience Required:

• 15 years of relevant work experience, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity
• Strong knowledge of Xero, VIP Payroll, and advanced Excel
• Proven track record in financial management and compliance
• Experience in the non-profit sector is highly advantageous
• Analytical, solutions-oriented, and a proactive team player
• Comfortable in a dynamic, high-impact environment with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a shelter environment and remain calm under pressure

As Financial Manager, youll lead all aspects of the organisations financial control environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Full oversight of financial policies, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and payroll
• Oversight of reconciliations, staff claims, and payment approvals
• Coordination of audits (internal, external, SARS, donor)
• Management of fixed assets and donor reporting requirements
• Financial input and reporting for donor funding applications
• Advising and supporting the General Manager and Board on financial matters
• Driving financial control efficiencies and strategic financial planning
• Leading weekly finance meetings and ensuring accurate and timely submissions
