POD Clerk - Logistics (Outbound)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the outbound delivery process from planning through to final settlement.
- Coordinate and monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) processes, including POD verification, reconciliation and KPI reporting.
- Monitor and investigate failed deliveries, delivery delays, shortages, overages and outstanding shipments.
- Manage Stock-in-Transit (SIT) reports, ageing stock, pending deliveries and delivery status updates.
- Liaise daily with transport service providers, warehouses and customers to ensure on-time deliveries and proactive communication.
- Monitor Goods Issue (GI) processes and system interfaces to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Investigate logistics system exceptions, including material, customer and postal code errors.
- Assist with inventory management, quarterly stock counts and irregularity reporting.
- Maintain logistics records, performance reports and outbound cost reporting.
- Ensure logistics KPIs, customer service levels and operational targets are achieved.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the outbound logistics operation.
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Minimum 13 years' experience in an outbound logistics, POD administration or freight forwarding environment.
- Working knowledge of outbound distribution and transport operations.
- Experience working with logistics or warehouse management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Understanding of local distribution, warehousing and inventory management principles.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Proactive, reliable and results-driven.
