Key Responsibilities:
- Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process bank reconciliations, cashbooks, and journals.
- Preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
- Assist with monthly management accounts.
- Support annual audit process with external auditors.
- Oversee and mentor junior bookkeeping staff (if applicable).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
- Liaise with external stakeholders (auditors, SARS, suppliers, clients).
Requirements:
- Relevant Finance/Accounting qualification (Diploma or Degree advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
