Our client is a multi-disciplinary construction company. Their services include project management & construction management as well as maintenance of roads and essential infrastructure.

Job Description

You will:

  • Procure construction materials, equipment, and services in line with project needs
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and terms
  • Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders
  • Coordinate with site and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Monitor costs and support budget and cost control requirements
  • Manage stock levels and track material availability and lead times
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance
  • Expedite orders to prevent site delays
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reports
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • National Diploma in Construction Management / Engineering or any related qualification is ideal
Skills
  • At least 5+ years in a construction / engineering field
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills
  • Good understanding of construction materials, plant, and services
  • Cost awareness and ability to work within budgets
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Supplier sourcing and relationship‑management skills
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, BOQs, and specifications
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and contract requirements (e.g. GCC/FIDIC)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy Build smart is non-negotiable (MS Office, procurement systems, MS Project advantageous)
