Bookkeeper

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure SARS compliance
  • Monitor cash flow and report on financial health
  • Liaise with auditors, accountants, and management when required
  • Support payroll processing

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years experience as a bookkeeper
  • Proficient in accounting software Xero
  • A degree/diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance
  • Strong Excel skills and general computer literacy
  • Knowledge of South African tax regulations and bookkeeping principles
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
