Financial Manager (Pastel Accounting)

Role Overview

The Financial Manager will oversee the full financial function of the business, ensuring accurate reporting, statutory compliance, and supporting operational and strategic decision‑making. The role requires extensive experience with Pastel Accounting.

• Prepare financial records up to Trial Balance
• Compile Consolidated Management Accounts
• Prepare and post monthly journals and provisions
• Maintain and update pricing structures in Pastel

Reconciliations:

• Bank Reconciliations
• Stock Reconciliations
• Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) Reconciliations
• VAT Reconciliations
• Other balance‑sheet reconciliations

VAT & Statutory:

• Prepare VAT calculations and submit VAT201 returns
• Manage EMP501 reconciliations

Costing & Manufacturing Support:

• Work out costings for special fabrications
• Set up and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)

Reporting:

• Prepare periodic financial and operational reports for the Managing Director

Audit & Compliance:

• Manage and prepare for annual external audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum Requirements:
• Matric with exemption
• Strong Pastel Accounting experience
• Advanced MS Excel skills

• Postgraduate degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or CIMA

• Financial Manager or Senior Accountant experience in manufacturing
• Experience preparing management accounts, reconciliations, costings, and audit packs
• BI reporting experience advantageous
