Key Purpose
A key growth strategy for Discovery in South Africa is to accelerate growth of its business-to-business product portfolio, with a particular focus on its renewable energy platform, Discovery Green.
The purpose of this role is to:
- Support, refine and implement a resonant brand strategy for Discovery Green within the business-to-business segment
- Define and drive the implementation of brand, engagement and communication strategies to attract and acquire new clients for Discovery Green’s products and services
- Develop and roll out effective communication and engagement strategies for existing Discovery Green clients
- Interface with senior business stakeholders to define, align and implement brand and communication strategies
- Develop and execute Discovery Green’s marketing strategy to build brand and product awareness that translates into measurable product growth and sales
- Manage and optimise current and potential organic and paid acquisition channels
- Implement best-in-class direct communication and engagement plans for Discovery Green clients
- Continuously enhance and improve strategies, communications and imagery across the Discovery Green portfolio
- Unpack complex business needs and provide creative, commercially sound marketing solutions, considering all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure marketing solutions are aligned with Discovery’s marketing model and broader business strategy
- Enable fact-based, data-driven decision-making by establishing correlations between marketing activity, revenue and profitability
- Manage budgets and expenditures for defined marketing initiatives
- Research, examine and implement new opportunities and best practices in the business-to-business space, acting as a subject matter expert within the team
- Monitor market intelligence and track competitor and market movements
- Bringing ideas to the business on product positioning and go-to-market approaches
- Conducting feasibility assessments and identifying new ways of doing things
- Measuring impact and driving corrective action
- Ensuring effective and timely implementation of plans
- Managing conflict early and constructively
- Responding to business needs timeously and effectively

Education and Experience
Qualifications- Minimum 3 year undergraduate degree
- Post graduate qualification in marketing or business is highly advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marketing, Strategy or a business-to-business environment
- Business to business marketing or customer engagement experience
- Advantageous industries - financial services, professional services banking, mobile telecoms
- Sound knowledge of key marketing disciplines not limited to GTM strategies, market development, driving adoption of digital services, B2B marketing, digital marketing and relationship marketing.
