The Role: External Sales Consultant

This role is ideal for a proactive and results-driven sales professional who thrives in a client-facing environment. You''ll be responsible for expanding the customer base, managing relationships with key clients, and achieving consistent sales growth.

The position combines new business development with account management to ensure both acquisition and retention success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in external or field sales.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and achieve monthly targets with 95% accuracy.
  • Generate and maintain a consistent pipeline of at least 10 new prospects per month.
  • Conduct a minimum of 5 external client visits per month to secure new business.
  • Visit the top 20 customers monthly and maintain weekly contact with the top 5.
  • Re-engage at least 5 dormant or lapsed customers each month.
  • Manage tenders and national deals, aiming for a 95% success rate.
  • Maintain detailed reports on sales activity, pipeline development, and skills progress.
About You
  • Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
  • Proven external sales track record with measurable results.
  • Valid driver''s licence and own reliable vehicle (fuel provided for business use).
  • Experience using Pastel or similar systems is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and highly target-driven.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up abilities.
  • Confident, adaptable, and proactive in identifying opportunities.
