Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Identify and report issues requiring specialist contractors
- Coordinate and monitor contractors to ensure quality work
- Property Management
- Ensure the property is well-maintained, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Oversee cleaning staff and maintain all common areas
- Conduct regular building inspections
- Manage waste disposal in line with municipal requirements
- Resident Support
- Act as first point of contact for residents regarding maintenance queries
- Manage requests through the maintenance system and resolve issues efficiently
- Foster a professional and approachable relationship with residents
- Administration & Reporting
- Submit requisitions for supplies, tools, or contractor services
- Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules and repairs
- Report regularly on building condition and maintenance activities
- Proven experience in property/building management, facilities management, or caretaking
- Hands-on technical skills (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general maintenance)
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety compliance (advantageous)
- Experience in residential or hospitality property management (preferred)
- Trade qualification in maintenance-related fields (beneficial but not essential)
- Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Reliable, professional, and trustworthy
- Strong attention to detail and pride in property presentation
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
- Approachable with excellent people skills
