Senior Project Manager - Somerset West Area

A high-impact opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex, enterprise-level initiatives within the financial services sector.

The Opportunity

Youll be responsible for translating complex challenges into clear execution plans while maintaining a strong balance between governance, agility, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Decompose complex initiatives into structured phases, workstreams, and deliverables
• Develop and manage end-to-end project plans, including scope, timelines, and resources
• Drive execution with a strong focus on outcomes and business value, not just task completion

• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable team culture
• Maintain momentum and energy throughout the project lifecycle

• Implement and manage robust governance frameworks
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks proactively
• Provide clear reporting, insights, and escalation to senior leadership

• Build strong, trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation
• Act as the central point of contact, managing expectations and priorities
• Oversee vendor relationships and third-party deliverables

• Apply a blended approach of traditional and agile methodologies
• Operate effectively in ambiguity and pivot when required without losing focus on outcomes

• Bachelors degree in IT, Business, or a related field
• 7+ years Project Management experience, including 3+ years at a senior level
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex projects
• Experience within banking, fintech, or financial services is ESSENTIAL
• Strong knowledge of project methodologies (PMP, PRINCE II, SAFe®, PMI-ACP® beneficial)
• Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or Azure DevOps
