Westfalia Fruit Products, situated in Kempton Park (Ripe for you), for You has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced: Quality Controller

Requirements

Purpose of the role:

To ensure quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product. The QC controller follows through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food standards and product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete all records accurately according to procedure and take all records to QA Coordinator for filling
• Visual inspections – Ensures the factory complies to hygiene standard and GMPs to avoid compromising product quality standards
• Ensures accurate identification of non-conforming products and escalates if necessary
• Verification of thermometers, scales calibration and temperature checks daily
• Ensure accurate positive release on all dispatched final product (Guacamole, fruit, truck)
• Ensures receiving is done on all incoming raw materials (Fruit, packaging)
• Training and coaching of floor packers on quality and food safety related matters
• Waste management of fruit in processing (through inline checks)
• Perform retention checks on all products
• Support all departments (packaging, stock controllers, ripening, admin) where necessary

Education:

• Matric
• Diploma in Agriculture / Food Technology through an accredited institution will be advantageous

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience
