WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a specialist tooling solutions provider to recruit a technically minded and self-driven Technical Sales Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on CNC, milling, or lathe experience who enjoys solving machining challenges, improving productivity, and building strong customer relationships across the manufacturing sector.
About the Role
As Technical Sales Engineer, you will grow sales across the Pretoria and North West Province territory by supporting manufacturing clients with the correct application of cutting tool technology. You’ll analyse machining processes, recommend tooling solutions, conduct on-site trials, and help clients improve tool life, cycle times, and cost per component.
Key Responsibilities- Grow sales within the Pretoria and North West manufacturing sector
- Identify and open new customer accounts
- Manage and grow an existing customer portfolio
- Analyse machining processes and recommend tooling improvements
- Select appropriate tooling and conduct on-site tooling tests and trials
- Demonstrate improvements in tool life, cycle times, and cost per component
- Maintain CRM records of sales activities and opportunities
- Prepare sales forecasts and reports
- Collaborate with internal sales, technical applications, and other departments
- Develop strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed targets
- Stay up to date with cutting tool technology and machining trends
- Practical experience working with CNC machines, mills, or lathes
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, machining processes, and applications
- Ability to analyse machining problems and recommend tooling solutions
- Valid driver’s licence
- Self-driven, technically curious, and customer-focused approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Previous technical sales experience in carbide tooling
- Exposure to CNC programming or process optimisation
- Existing relationships in the manufacturing or engineering sector
