Junior Electronic Engineer

The company is part of a globally operating defense technology group with headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The Centurion-based team operates as a key engineering hub focused on the design and delivery of ITAR-free, Electro-Optical (EO) systems, used across land, naval, and airborne platforms throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on engineering role where the successful candidate will be involved in the design, testing, and integration of complex electronic subsystems. You will contribute to the full product development cycle, working alongside a cross-functional team of engineers in optics, mechanics, software, and systems.

• Design and develop custom electronic hardware for EO systems, including analog and digital circuits.
• Assist in embedded system development using microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoCs.
• Support prototyping, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on system integration and testing.
• Produce clear and maintainable design documentation, schematics, and BOMs.
• Participate in R&D initiatives to explore and evaluate new technologies.

• Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering (BEng or equivalent) Essential.
• 03 years of relevant experience in electronics development (industry or academic).
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals.
• Experience or interest in embedded systems, firmware, microcontrollers, or FPGAs is a plus.
• Proficiency in tools such as Altium Designer, MATLAB, or circuit simulation tools is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a technical, fast-paced environment.
• South African citizenship or valid work permit required.
