Logistics Supervisor

Logistics and distribution Company based in Cape Town CBD is looking for a supervisor to organize the storage and distribution of goods. In this role you will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time. You will also be involved in transportation, stock control, warehouse monitoring and monitoring the flow of goods.
Logistics Supervisor Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:
- Strategically planning and managing logistics, manage offsite warehouse stock outside South African boarders, transportation and customer services
- Directing, optimizing and coordinating full order cycles
- Co-ordinating imports and exports
- Planning quantities and dispatches to meet client deadlines
- Following detailed SOP's for shipping of product
- Stock management reporting
- Processing and submitting export documentation
- Tracking of trucks and transport documentation
- Attending to and resolving documentation related queries
- Gathering and capturing of export related data on the internal software system
- Meeting strict and changing deadlines
- All administrative tasks within the scope of the export logistics function within the company
- Coordinate with transporters and warehouses.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Supervise the work of logistics administrators.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Tracking of trucks and transport documentation
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouses, transportation and customer services
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
- Keep track of quantity, stock levels, delivery times, and efficiency
- Resolve any problems arising or complaints
- Meet accuracy and timeliness targets
- Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
Skills and requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, hands-on and the ability to use initiative.
- Strong forward planning skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced MS Excel skills required including spreadsheets)
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and with constantly changing deadlines
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
- Ability to ask questions rather than making assumptions
- Team player
- Degree preferrable but not essential
- Extensive experience in Road Freight particularly within Africa with a Commercial Background
