Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, planning, and management of civil engineering projects (e.g., roads, stormwater, earthworks, water reticulation, sewer infrastructure, etc).
• Take full technical ownership of projects, ensuring designs are innovative, cost-effective, and compliant with South African regulations and standards (SANS, etc.).
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, tender documents, and contract documentation.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers and technologists within the team.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure all work complies with the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng) or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or B-Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) OR a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) .
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of post-professional registration experience.

• Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering.
• Proficient in industry-standard civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Prokon, or similar).
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
