Job Description

A summary of your responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Production consumables and alloys are ordered in time and on hand. (melter on shift to raise requisitions and purchase orders)
• Optimum utilization of furnace capacity and operation.
• Heats are casted on time according to the daily plan.
• All melting personnel are aware of the daily plan and cast time targets.
• Ladles/tundishes are prepared, clean, hot and ready for use. (start of shift inspection, reports and checklist)
• Furnace and ladles maintenance is performed satisfactory and in time allowed.
• Crane scales tectip, and temperature measurements equipment are calibrated regularly and checklist/registers are signed off.
• All charge make-up material is controlled and that crane driver load the correct charge in the correct furnace.
• Heats are casted in spec.
• Tectip results comply with specifications as per process sheet.
• Metal casted and showing ladle Tectip results out of specification is returned to furnace and rectified.
• Operating of spin cast machine.
• Measure temperature at spin cast.

• Matric
• Technical qualification

• Minimum 5 years working in a foundry environment
• Experience working with furnaces up to 20 tons
• Supervisory experience
