Aerospace Systems Engineer - Somerset West

The successful candidate will lead system design and requirements activities across aerospace-related projects, collaborating closely with project managers and multidisciplinary development and testing teams.

• Structure and implement systems engineering processes tailored to rocket and missile systems.
• Lead a team of technical specialists across disciplines.
• Identify system-level requirements and technical risks.
• Perform functional decomposition and define interfaces between system elements.
• Allocate requirements to subsystems and interfaces.
• Develop and evaluate solution concepts through trade-off studies.
• Define verification and validation strategies.
• Conduct Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).
• Facilitate design and requirements reviews.
• Create and maintain systems engineering documentation and databases.

• BSc in Engineering; postgraduate qualification in Aeronautical Engineering is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace or related engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the ability to adapt international standards to project-specific needs.
• Experience in system-level design and integration.
• Proficiency in modern systems engineering software platforms (or willingness to learn).
• Excellent communication skillsboth verbal and written.
• Proven time management skills with the ability to manage multiple systems/subsystems.
• A collaborative team player who is also capable of working independently.
