Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will lead the execution of integrated marketing and communications initiatives ensuring alignment with business development objectives and investor attraction strategies. The role will also strengthen brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem development across diverse audiences.

Minimum requirements:

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years general marketing experience, ideally across both public and private sector environments
• Strong background in marketing and communications implementation
• Corporate marketing and communications experience essential

Key competencies required:

• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
• Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at multiple levels
• Solid marketing and communications experience
• Exposure to the Greentech or related sustainability-driven sectors advantageous
• Understanding of the Western Cape and broader South African economic landscape
• Strong planning, execution, and operational delivery capability
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong digital, systems, and technology proficiency

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns across multiple platforms and stakeholder groups
• Manage digital platforms, social media, and marketing collateral
• Ensure brand consistency and governance across all communications
• Lead internal and external communications strategies
• Oversee event coordination and execution
• Build and maintain key industry and stakeholder relationships
• Support compliance, risk management, reporting, and administrative functions

Additional requirements:

• Hybrid working model based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs)
• Valid drivers license and reliable transport (travel within Cape Town required)
• 3-year fixed term contract with performance-based delivery expectations and a 3-month probation period
