Junior Accountant

Location: Durban, KZN

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or relevant field
• A strong understanding of Tax legislation (ETI) (3-5 years exp)
• A strong Understanding Tax year process EMP501 (3-5 years exp)
• Strong knowledge of the payroll cycle
• Strong knowledge of benefits/bargaining councils
• Strong Financial Reporting and Reconciliation skills
• Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs
• Knowledge of Tax Legislation and compliance (Direct and Indirect)
• Advanced MS Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to analyze large amounts of data and compile detailed reports

• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Support month-end and year-end close processes for the group
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Liaise with our Financial Manager to improve financial procedures
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts Monthly
• Assist with tax audits, tax returns, and employee tax reconciliation (EMP501)
• Direct external audits to ensure compliance
• Preparation of Monthly VAT reconciliation
• All other related tasks
