Factory Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Mechanic to maintain and repair our mobile plant equipment. This role requires hands-on expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues efficiently.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric certificate)
• Valid Drivers License
• Relevant mechanical qualification
• 35 years experience as a Factory Mechanic
• Experience with 3-wheel bell forklifts, front-end loaders, excavators, forklifts, and tractors
• Previous experience in a clay brick factory (advantageous)
• Fluent in Afrikaans & English (isiXhosa advantageous)
• Knowledge of OHSA Act

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure availability, upkeep, and reliability of trackless mobile plant equipment
• Maintain functionality of equipment, engines, and mechanical systems
• Manage maintenance and repair schedules effectively
• Perform emergency repairs as needed
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults efficiently
• Execute SHEQ responsibilities
• Manage mechanical stock

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:00 17:00
• Friday: 07:00 15:00
• Some production processes run 24/7 and may require call-outs
