Mechanical Engineer
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems, machinery, and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with production teams, project engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and technical standards.
The successful candidate will be involved in equipment design, project planning, root cause analysis, process improvement, reliability initiatives, and technical support activities. This position offers excellent exposure to multidisciplinary engineering projects while providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
Education:
- BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BTech Mechanical Engineering
- ECSA registration advantageous
- GCC advantageous
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- 3-8 years' mechanical engineering experience
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, mining, energy, or process environments
- Mechanical design and project engineering experience
- Equipment specification, selection, and commissioning experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machinery
- Experience with maintenance and reliability engineering principles
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production optimization
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with technical reporting and engineering documentation
- Understanding of health, safety, and quality standards
- Ability to conduct technical investigations and implement corrective actions
- Strong project planning and coordination skills
- Supplier, contractor, and stakeholder management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and equipment
- Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation
- Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Conduct equipment performance assessments and improvement studies
- Develop engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
- Perform root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Support installation, commissioning, and handover activities
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and clients regarding technical requirements
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations
- Participate in maintenance and reliability improvement programmes
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
