Financial Accountant
A reputable organisation within the logistics industry is seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Edenvale. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the full finance function within a dynamic and operational environment.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a BCom-qualified professional who has completed SAICA articles and gained 34 years of post-article experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong personality, thrive in a hands-on role, and be confident managing the full finance function.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting the operational needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full finance function, including reporting and compliance
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
- Perform reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements
- Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
- Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making
Job Experience & Qualifications:
- BCom degree (minimum requirement)
- Completed SAICA articles
- 34 years post-articles experience in a finance role
- Proven experience managing the full finance function
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation experience
- Strong personality with the ability to operate in a hands-on environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
