Logistics Controller - Maize
You will coordinate with customers, transporters, terminals, silos, traders and finance teams to maintain accurate contract allocations, stock positions, costs and invoicing.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the end-to-end execution of maize purchase and sales contracts.Plan vessel arrivals, discharge requirements, terminal and silo allocations.Arrange and manage landside transport to end users.Maintain forward planning, stock positions and inventory records.Communicate product availability, delivery timing and contractual obligations to customers.Liaise with silos, terminals, transport providers and other service suppliers.Allocate contracts and ensure trades, strategies and intercompany transactions are accurately reflected in the system.Manage transport, storage and related logistics costs, including recoveries in line with contract terms.Capture and reconcile costs, inventory movements, supplier records and contract information.Support invoicing, debtor and creditor processes, as well as month-end inventory reconciliations.Resolve customer queries relating to deliveries, weights, stock and accounts.Provide reliable daily logistics updates to internal stakeholders and customers.Requirements3-5 years’ experience in commodity logistics, grain handling, agricultural supply chains, warehousing or a related environment.Experience with maize, grain, feed, agri-commodities or bulk commodities will be advantageous.Working knowledge of import and export processes, C&F documentation, Incoterms and relevant SARS requirements.Experience with contracts, stock control, transport planning, invoicing and reconciliations.Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, agriculture or commerce will be advantageous.Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving ability.Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Clear communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and service providers.Willingness to assist outside conventional hours when operationally required.
