Fitter & Turner

Location: Blackheath

Role Summary:

Seeking a Fitter and Turner who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and efficiency of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementation and management of maintenance system.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance tasks (weekly, monthly, annually).
• Ensure that machines can achieve operational efficiency as determined by the Managing Director.
• Uphold safety and housekeeping standards in line with OHSA and ensure compliance with all ISO system requirements.
• Fault finding during production and breakdowns.
• Responsible for maintenance budget planning and controlling maintenance expenses.
• Responsible for managing spare parts levels.
• Attend to breakdowns and call outs as required.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new machines and/or equipment.
• Perform any other tasks necessary for the conduct of the employers business, as the employer may from time to time direct.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience with pumps, drives, motors, chillers, and blowers.
• Must be able to read pneumatic and electrical drawings to assist with fault finding.
• Must be able to use TIG welding on stainless steel.
• Familiar with preventative maintenance practices, maintenance planning, and budgeting.
• Familiar with root cause analysis methods.
• Good communication skills written and verbal.
• Good numeracy skills and computer literacy.
• Team player with a proactive, systematic approach to tasks.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Valid Code B drivers licence.
• Perform any other tasks necessary for the conduct of the employer''s business, as the employer may from time to time direct.
