Bar Supervisor (Night Shifts)

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be service-driven, well-organised, and confident in leading a bar team to deliver exceptional guest experiences during peak evening hours. This role requires hands-on leadership, excellent product knowledge, and the ability to manage operations under pressure.

• Supervise daily bar operations during evening shifts
• Lead, motivate, and train the bar team to maintain high service standards
• Oversee stock levels, ordering, and bar controls
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws, hygiene, and health & safety standards
• Drive upselling initiatives and promote cocktails, specials, and hotel offerings
• Handle guest queries and resolve complaints in a professional manner
• Maintain bar cleanliness, presentation, and atmosphere
• Assist with cash-ups, reporting, and operational administration

• 23 years experience as a Bar Supervisor or Senior Bartender in a 4* or 5* hotel or upmarket bar/restaurant
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, mixology, wine, and beverages
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Proven ability to train and manage a team
• Stock management and cash-up experience essential
• Ability to work evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Grade 12 (Matric) required; Hospitality or bar training qualification advantageous
• Professional, well-groomed, and guest-focused approach
• South African citizens only
