Our client based in Pietermaritzburg is seeking an experienced Ruminant Technical Manager.

Requirements:

• A minimum of a BSc. Agriculture degree
• Experience in on-farm diet assessment programmes and herd management programmes
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Assertive and a high degree of self-motivation
• Entrepreneurial skills
• An advanced level of computer skills in Microsoft Office products
• A commitment to service excellence and attention to detail
• High level of personal and professional integrity
• A self-starter with a friendly disposition
• Valid Driver’s license

Responsibilities:

• To ensure that the dairy technical advisors are always up to date with the latest trends and technological advancements in the dairy industry
• Ensure training sessions are organised on specific topics which technical advisors use to improve sales through quality service delivery and technical proficiency
• Manage all ruminant related claims and to assist the technical advisors and nutritionist in investigating the technical aspect of claims
• Product development in consultation with the Technical Ruminant Executive and the mill nutritionist
• Collate and manage trials
• Approval of all new products including custom rations
• Responsible for a base of key accounts which are reported by means of KRA’s, market surveys and weekly reports
• Participate in discussions with sales team relating to sales target and strategies
• Maintaining and adhering to all safety, quality, housekeeping and 20 Keys Standards
