Accountant & HR Payroll Administrator

This role involves:
Preparation of monthly journal entries (provisions, depreciation, accruals), ad-hoc invoicing, and licensing invoice calculations
Overseeing cashbook management, bank statement uploads, and month‑end bank reconciliation
Managing creditors/subcontractors, intercompany accounts, employee transactions, and general ledger accounts
Processing financial transactions within the ERP system, including expenses, prepayments, debit orders, credit card transactions, and international payments
Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register
Preparing cashflow forecasts
Loading on banking system, preparation and distribution of payslips, and processing of employee Reimbursements

Submission, and payment of all statutory returns: PAYE, SDL, UIF, VAT, Return of Earnings, Workmans Compensation, STATS SA, IT14SD, and CEB01

Providing reports and data for SOX compliance functions and running ERP and payroll reports for internal review

Supporting the annual financial audit and maintaining internal controls

Skills & Experience: Minimum 35 years experience in a similar role

Demonstrable experience with South African statutory compliance: SARS e-filing (PAYE, VAT, IT14SD, SDL/UIF), Return of Earnings, and STATS SA submissions
Payroll processing experience, including monthly payroll cycles and statutory submissions
Experience with preparing monthly management accounts and financial packs
Experience with Claude AI, Oracle ERP, Sage 300, SAP, Business One, Pastel Payroll)
Familiarity with foreign currency transactions and international payment processing
SOX compliance exposure or experience working within a listed group environment
Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS for SMEs and South African tax legislation)

Self-sufficient and able to operate with minimal supervision in a small team

Qualification: BCom Accounting or similar

SAIPA or CIMA qualified
