Compliance Manager in Short-Term Insurance

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain the compliance management framework.
- Develop and execute compliance risk management and monitoring plans.
- Conduct compliance reviews, testing, and file sampling.
- Manage regional compliance functions and external compliance providers.
- Assist business units in mitigating compliance risks.
- Perform SOP compliance testing and track corrective actions.
- Draft, implement, and maintain compliance policies.
- Deliver compliance training and regulatory awareness programmes.
- Guide compliance-related queries.
- Promote a strong, customer-centric compliance culture.
- Monitor business practices for compliance risks and potential customer harm.
- Escalate compliance and conduct concerns where required.

- Qualifications: RE 5, Certificate in Compliance Management NQF 7, Class of Business - Personal Lines, Class of Business Commercial Lines, B Com (Compliance & Risk Management), Advanced Certificate in Introduction to Compliance, B Com (Law), Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering Control, LLB
- Skills:
- 3-5 years' compliance experience within the financial services industry, preferably in an FSP environment.
- Strong compliance risk management and regulatory monitoring expertise.
- Sound knowledge of South African financial services legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting compliance reviews, audits, and control testing.
- Proven ability to develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of regulatory examinations and competency requirements applicable to FSP licences.
- Experience in compliance reporting, risk assessment, and remediation tracking.
- Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills.
- Experience implementing and maintaining governance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Reporting: You will report to the Human Resource Executive.
