Job Advert Summary

PURPOSE:

To take accountability of the relationship between The ConneXXion business functions and Information Management (IM).

Ensure that IM service offering is aligned to The ConneXXion business functions’ strategic needs.

Fulfil a significant role in ensuring alignment between business and IM through understanding business strategic objectives and ensuring that these are correctly translated by IM into fit for purpose IM solutions to add value to business.

Single point of contact for day-to-day operations.

MAJOR CHALLENGES:

Manage stakeholder’s expectations from a customer and IM perspective. Ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery from IM services.

Offer support to BU’s Head IM operations and respective BU’s IM team members.

Build and maintain long term relationships with various stakeholders. Engage with various service areas to ensure appropriate services are provided (Portfolio & Architect, Infrastructure, Business Solutions, Governance & IT Security). Ensure value realisation on services provided.
Establish rigorous incident management practices, acting as the escalation point and liaison between IM teams and business. Establish and manage service level agreements with business.

Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

B Tech Information Technology (Essential/Minimum or)
B Tech Computer Systems (Essential/Minimum or)
BCom Informatics (Essential/Minimum or)
BSc Computer Science (Essential/Minimum)
Bachelor Degree Information Management (Essential/Minimum)
Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
Certificate ITIL Foundation (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years Proven experience (5+ years) and technical expertise in creating and implementing IM strategies. Proven experience of stakeholder management. Proven experience of service delivery and service level managementProven delivery of successful IM projects aligned with long-term business objectives.
Strong understanding of related business processesmining operations and related technology requirements. Solid experience in cybersecurity, risk management, business continuity, data management, solution design and due diligence exercises. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Experience engaging with and managing cross-functional teams, consultants, vendors, auditors fusion teams and similar. Experience in managing information technology projects, change management interventions and budgets. Familiarity with industry-specific software and applications (e.g., OT applications) advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations, compliance and privacy requirements in the mining sector, e.g. GDPR and POPIA. Knowledge of ERP will be advantageous Direct experience in managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is essential Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Duties & Responsibilities
Budget and Resource Allocations

Ensure financial excellence by managing budgets.
Collaborate with line manager to develop and manage the ConneXXion’s IM budget, optimising resource allocation across projects.
Establish business plans for the ConneXXion IM projects by setting targets, business forecasts and budgets.
Oversee execution of the ConneXXion IM’s capital and operational budget.
Track and manage IM solutions and costs as a key enabler for the business units.

Customer Centric

Ensure service delivery by IM to business functions.
Manage customer satisfaction and employ interventions if required.
Key contact person for day-to-day IM services.
Ensure continuous communication flow between IM and business.

Functional Excellence

Oversee and monitor IM activities across the business.
Effectively balance the demand for IM services against the business unit priorities.
Identify and manage critical functional risks through appropriate mitigation plans/actions with respective IM departments.

Governance Risk and Compliance

Ensure compliance to IM Governance Framework, Policies and Procedures.
Conduct regular risk assessments and develop cross strategies to monitor and mitigate IM related risks at business units.
As required, support and actively contribute to all combined assurance efforts including, amongst others, internal and external audits, governance, legal, risk, compliance and supply chain management processes.

People Management

Define the roles and responsibilities of your immediate team.
Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent, and culture of team to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies, and expand competencies.
Ensure clear communication of individual, functional and business targets and objectives and drive performance towards their fulfilment.

Project Management

Lead the evaluation and prioritisation of IM projects and initiatives at the ConneXXion to drive the achievement of business objectives.
Support the IM project management team, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Apply best practices and methodologies in project and change management to achieve successful outcomes.

Stakeholder Management and Strategic Partnerships

Manage relationships with business in negotiating contracts and ensuring the delivery of high- quality IM products and services.
Manage relations serve as an interface with IM teams responsible to ensure that business needs are addressed.
Liaise with key stakeholders and business process owners to manage and resolve escalated issues and risks.
Balance the needs of stakeholders in achieving service quality levels whilst maintaining compliance to IM governance/policies and standards.
Function as a Business Relationship Manager, ensuring seamless alignment of technology solutions with overall business strategy and objectives.

Systems and technology

Oversee the solution design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of information systems at business units.
Oversee the management and maintenance of IM infrastructure at business units.
Ensure high availability and reliability of technology systems to support business and mining operations.
