RPO Recruitment's client, a leading consulting firm in the Civil Engineering industry, is looking for a skilled and experienced Roads Resident Engineer to join their team in Durban.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of road construction projects. You will collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all necessary quality and safety standards.
As a Roads Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of road projects, from design to construction and completion. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly regarded consulting firm and contribute to the development of sustainable and efficient road infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of road construction projects.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure project success.
• Monitor project progress, including cost, schedule, quality, and safety.
• Review and approve project designs, specifications, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage project budgets and resources.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and local communities.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the project team.
• Prepare reports and presentations on project status and progress.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in road construction projects.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of road construction methods and materials.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to travel to project sites as needed.
