Our client, a progressive and fast-growing organisation, is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Manager to join their team.
The Financial Manager will be responsible for the full financial management function, ensuring sound financial governance, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls within a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full finance function, including financial systems, processes, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes, including rolling forecasts.
- Analyse financial performance against budgets and provide meaningful insights to management.
- Ensure strong internal financial controls are implemented and maintained across the business.
- Manage stock and asset control processes in a high-value operational environment.
- Review and authorise EFT payments and ensure proper financial governance.
- Ensure full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and legislative requirements (including SARS, CIPC, audit requirements, and COIDA).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, legal advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and performance.
Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (completed articles advantageous).
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a financial management role.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Sage Evolution or similar).
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and management accounting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven experience in general ledger management and reconciliations.
Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
Experience in managing and developing a finance team.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
