Locomotive/ Train Driver x2 - Mining Surface Operations

A leading open-pit mining and aggregates company in the Lichtenburg area is looking for two experienced Locomotive/ Train Drivers to support raw material transportation between the quarry and the processing plant. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in heavy industrial environments and be certified to operate locomotives on private rail systems.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Loco/Train Driver with valid Train Driver Certificate and License
• Good motor coordination and situational awareness
• Knowledge of rail safety regulations and operational practices
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work in teams
• Physically and medically fit for duty
• Experience working in remote/mining environments is highly advantageous

• Conduct pre-shift checks on locomotive and fuel levels
• Operate train to transport raw material between quarry and plant
• Perform visual and audible inspections of railway lines
• Log transported quantities, delays, and mechanical issues
• Adhere to speed limits, signals, and safety protocols
• Coordinate shunting operations and ensure trip safety
• Maintain cleanliness of locomotive cab
• Report faults and line defects to Engineering Supervisor
