The Role: Business Development Manager
This role exists to spearhead growth in the construction and tenancy cleaning sectors by identifying and securing new business opportunities. With a focus on outbound sales and tender management, the Business Development Manager will work closely with the UK-based leadership team, using tools like Glenigan's to build a pipeline and deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in business development or sales
- Generate qualified leads through Glenigans, LinkedIn, phone, and email outreach
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline for construction and tenancy cleaning projects
- Manage end-to-end tender submissions with accuracy and attention to detail
- Use pricing matrices and review floor plans to scope jobs and calculate quotes
- Maintain CRM records, activity logs, and submit weekly progress reports
- Follow up consistently on tenders and client enquiries
- Build strong client relationships and represent the company professionally
- Work towards KPIs, including outreach volume, tender wins, and pipeline growth
- 2+ years of proven business development or sales experience
- Track record of meeting/exceeding targets
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Self-driven, tenacious, and persistent in following up leads
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and follow structured workflows
- CRM-savvy and confident with Microsoft Office
- Comfortable with telephone and email sales outreach
- Professional and proactive approach
Nice to Have:
- Experience in construction, facilities management, or cleaning sectors
- Familiarity with Glenigans or similar platforms
- Understanding of construction terminology and processes
- Tender submission experience and ability to read floor plans
