My client is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic support to business decisions.

This role is based in Airport City, Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and reconciling financial records up to trial balance.
• Managing bank reconciliations, petty cash, and intergroup transactions.
• Coordinating and processing local payments and reviewing creditors reconciliations.
• Posting monthly journals, including provisions, accruals, depreciation, shareholders interest, and tax.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and reporting on actual company performance.
• Reviewing the fixed asset register and managing depreciation.
• Ensuring tax compliance, including VAT and payroll tax reconciliations, and liaising with SARS when required.
• Compiling annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Overseeing cash management to ensure operational requirements and timely supplier payments.

• BCom Financial / Management Accounting degree (completed SAIPA articles essential).
• Minimum 1 year post-article experience.
• SAIPA membership advantageous.
• Knowledge of Draftworx and EpiCor beneficial.
• Strong understanding of IFRS for SMEs, income tax, and VAT.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
