About the Role
We are looking for a General Manager to take full accountability for the performance, profitability and long-term growth of a specialist technical business. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across all functions, turning strategy into results while delivering exceptional value to customers and stakeholders.

Lead strategy and performance
- Drive execution of the business strategy through robust planning and implementation
- Track performance against strategic goals and take corrective action where needed

- Grow revenue and profitability
- Manage and monitor the annual operating budget
- Strengthen relationships with key customers, supporting business development, satisfaction and retention
- Oversee manufacturing, quality assurance and delivery of products and services
- Optimise efficiency, productivity and processes
- Ensure capacity, resourcing and planning support current and future growth
- Maintain high standards of product quality and customer service
- Provide clear direction and support to your team
- Build an accountable, engaged and collaborative culture
- Drive performance management, development and workforce planning
- Build strategic relationships with customers, suppliers and industry partners
- Represent the business at external engagements and industry forums
- Collaborate across internal functions and the wider Group
- Promote ethical leadership and sound corporate governance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulation
- Champion health, safety, quality and environmental responsibility
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelors degree in Business Management, Engineering, Science or a related field (a postgraduate qualification is advantageous)
- 5-8 years experience as a General Manager within manufacturing, mining, laboratory services or a related technical environment
- Experience in a company reporting into a Group structure is advantageous
