Assistant Financial Accountant

Location: Devonbosch, Stellenbosch (Bottelary Road)

A well-established multinational agricultural commodities business is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join its finance team.

This role offers exposure to treasury, banking, foreign currency transactions, reconciliations, and month-end accounting within a fast-paced international trading environment. It is ideal for a finance professional looking to develop their career within commercial finance and commodity trading.

• Process and monitor local and foreign payments.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with cash flow management and treasury activities.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and transactions.
• Process journals, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Support management reporting and variance analysis.
• Assist with VAT, audit, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support finance system administration and process improvements.
• Work closely with Finance, Trading, and Logistics teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years' accounting or finance experience.
• Strong reconciliation, banking, and accounting knowledge.
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical ability.

• Exposure to treasury, foreign currency transactions, or cash flow management.
• Experience within agriculture, exports, logistics, manufacturing, or commodity trading.
• Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems.

• Exposure to international commodity trading and treasury operations.
• Opportunity to develop into Financial Accounting, Treasury, or Trade Accounting roles.
