A world-leading manufacturer in the heavy-equipment and industrial engineering sector is searching for an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the full financial function. This environment is dynamic, data-rich and operationally complex with deep exposure to cost structures, multi-site operations, production cycles and global reporting frameworks.
As the Financial Manager, you will elevate financial governance, sharpen operational insights, and support senior stakeholders in making sound, data-driven decisions. This role provides significant visibility across operations, supply chain, commercial finance and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial management, reporting and control environment for the division
- Oversee month-end close, management packs, and operational performance reviews
- Drive financial planning cycles including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and cost reviews
- Strengthen internal controls, compliance frameworks and audit readiness across the business
- Champion continuous improvement in reporting, processes and financial systems
- Oversee costing methodologies, cost allocation, inventory valuation and manufacturing variances
- Monitor CapEx projects, fixed assets, and capital planning alignment
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to analyse performance and optimise efficiencies
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership for decision-making
- Guide, mentor and develop a finance team to ensure skills growth and delivery excellence
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BCom Accounting (essential); BCom Honours advantageous
- 610 years progressive experience in finance, with leadership exposure
- Strong background in manufacturing, industrial, engineering or heavy-industry environments
- Advanced understanding of costing, inventory and production-related finance
- Strong ERP system experience (SAP preferred)
- Proven ability to lead teams, present insights to leadership and influence operational decision-making
- Analytical, curious, resilient and comfortable working in a technically complex environment
