My client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Administrator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of payroll experience and preferably an I.T. background, with a strong understanding of payroll systems, compliance, and reconciliation processes.
The Senior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing both Salaried and Wage Payrolls (Onshore & Offshore), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities:Salary Payroll:
- Populate and maintain monthly salary amendment spreadsheets (new hires, terminations, benefits, deductions, etc.).
- Reconcile third-party payment statements with deduction reports on VIP.
- Maintain provident fund history and VIP payroll reporting monthly.
- Assist with third-party payment schedules and payroll reconciliations.
- Complete UI19 forms and handle payroll queries efficiently.
Wages Payroll:
- Add and maintain employee information on VIP.
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly wage payrolls (Onshore & Offshore).
- Import hours, allowances, and shifts; capture additional earnings and deductions.
- Ensure timely release of payroll and related third-party payments.
- Generate reports (weekly, month-end, tax year-end, and audit) and distribute to branches.
- Perform monthly reconciliations with external entities (e.g. Alexander Forbes, MEIBC, SEIFSA, Sanlam, NUMSA).
Payroll & HR Support:
- Prepare and reconcile EMP201s; assist with EMP501 submissions.
- Support reporting for Employment Equity, Skills, SEST, and STATSA.
- Provide HR-related administrative support and respond to payroll queries.
General & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and record keeping in VIP.
- Stay informed of tax and labour law changes to ensure compliance.
- Generate and analyse payroll reports for management and audits.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Divisional Administrators to resolve payroll discrepancies and improve processes.
- Support system upgrades, process documentation, and team collaboration during peak periods.
Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom or equivalent qualification
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience (on VIP or similar system)Strong Excel and reporting skills
