IT Field Service Technician

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong problem-solving skills to manage complex IT environments across the region.

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware components including servers, workstations, routers, switches, and peripheral devices.
• Deploy and update software applications and various operating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on-site, responding promptly to service requests and user queries.
• Set up and maintain LAN/WAN configurations, ensuring optimal network connectivity and performance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, site credentials, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate with internal IT teams, including system administrators and security professionals, to implement upgrades and resolve critical issues.
• Perform rigorous testing and quality assurance checks to ensure systems meet performance and security standards.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers within the team.
• Manage emergency responses to critical system failures or network outages as required.

• Minimum Grade 12 Qualification.
• A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related Engineering field is highly advantageous.
• 25 years of hands-on experience in IT support, field service, or technical roles.
• 25 years of specific experience within the office automation industry.
• Proven expertise in on-site hardware/software installation and network troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 25kg) and perform manual hardware tasks.
• Valid Drivers License is essential.
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites and participate in an on-call rotation.
