Toolmaker – Plastic Injection Moulding Port Elizabeth

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture, assemble, and fit plastic injection mould tools and components to precise engineering specifications
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing moulds
• Diagnose tooling issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize tool performance
• Conduct tool trials and ensure moulds meet quality and production standards
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and specifications accurately
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards
• Maintain accurate records of tooling work, repairs, and modifications

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker in plastic injection moulding (essential)
• Strong knowledge of mould construction, tool fitting, and machining processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with manual machining (milling, turning, grinding, etc.)
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to quality and safety standards

Preferred (Advantageous but Not Required):

• Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry
• Familiarity with CNC machining and CAD/CAM systems

Qualifications:

• Trade Test Certificate or equivalent qualification in Toolmaking
• Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage
