1. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Ensure that all production machinery is kept to peak performance on the production line
• Being on call from production supervision.
• Immediately investigating faults and motivating maintenance personnel so as to expedite repairs.
• Returning machines to production line with minimum delays.

• Ensure that planned maintenance is carried out
• Inspecting all machinery at regular intervals, using check lists etc.
• Carrying out planned maintenance as scheduled.
• The systematic overhauling of machines and equipment when due.
• By making sure that spares and materials are available and drawn from the stores being overhauling is commenced. Machine Overhaul
• Ensure that machinery overhauled in the maintenance workshop is done efficiently and thoroughly
• Checking on quality of work being carried out.
• Checking all settings and test run machines.

• Keep within the limits of the maintenance materials budget
• Seeing that all spares and materials are used correctly.
• Salvaging and repairing spares required for maintenance.

• Stop faulty production machines where a fault could cause injury to persons, serious damage to quality (i.e. no wax) and damage to machine/equipment.
• Authorise overtime
• Authorize Stores Requisitions

• Budgets / man hours and overtime.
• Quality Control Reports.
• Departmental Efficiency and Cost Reports.
• Housekeeping, Safety and Accident Reports.
• Scheduled maintenance inspection reports.
