- 1. Duties and responsibilities
Needs to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts to excel in the role. Theyre responsible for keeping the business well-stocked and keeping Workshop part requirements up to date
Some day-to-day job duties include:
- Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels
- Monitoring the current parts inventory
- Pricing parts to order (Comparative Quotes)
- Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labelling them
- Helping procurement department find and purchase the correct parts
- Overseeing special orders
- Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs
- 2. Skills and qualifications
A successful Parts Manager candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications needed for the job duties, including:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing and estimates
Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues
Previous experience Technical Ability
Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud environment
Leadership skills to keep the parts department running smoothly
Product knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly and recommend the needed parts
Understanding of Heavy Duty Equipment, Front End Loaders, Excavators, Trucks
Parts Experience with, Powerstar, Howo, XCMG, Rondebult, Volvo, Cat, Weichai equipment
