SACPCMP Registered Construction Manager (6-month renewable contract position)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities from project initiation through to completion.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, contractual requirements, and building regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular progress reports for management and clients.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets required standards.
- Manage project schedules, labour resources, plant, and materials efficiently.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions where required.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, architects, and local authorities.
- Control site costs and assist with budget management.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical input where necessary.
- Ensure proper site documentation, record keeping, and reporting are maintained.
- Drive productivity and maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism on site.
- SACPCMP registration as a Professional Construction Manager (PrCM) or Professional Construction Project Manager (PrCPM).
- National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related field.
- Minimum 510 years experience in construction management within commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing construction sites and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, project planning, and site operations.
- Excellent knowledge of South African building regulations and Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements.
- Proficient in MS Office and construction project management software.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within the Western Cape region.
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Problem-solving and decision-making capability
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Financial and commercial awareness
- Conflict management and negotiation skills
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of JBCC, NEC, or FIDIC contracts.
- Experience with ISO Quality Management Systems.
- Health & Safety certifications advantageous.
