KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop procurement specifications and requirements for products and services.
- Manage purchasing of materials and ensure availability within budget.
- Develop strategies to improve procurement and supply chain efficiency.
- Manage supplier payments, relationships and performance.
- Monitor inventory levels, procurement costs and expenditure.
- Lead, supervise and develop the procurement team, including task allocation and performance management.
- Analyse procurement, inventory, sales and expense reports and identify improvement opportunities.
- Report procurement performance and activities to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO requirements, and Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Maintain effective departmental administration and housekeeping.
- Promote teamwork, productivity and a positive working environment.
- Address procurement-related queries, issues and complaints professionally.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar procurement role, preferably within steel or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement processes and supply chain principles.
- Experience with steel products, materials and manufacturing processes will be advantageous.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent organisational, multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office.
- Good understanding of ISO, Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
