Millwright/Maintenance Technician

This position is within a well-established manufacturing firm in the textile and retail bag sector based in Westmead, KZN. The company operates a high-output production facility focused on delivering quality products to the retail market.

The Millwright/Maintenance Technician is responsible for the continuous operation of the plant by installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery, equipment, and physical structures. This role requires a blend of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime in the production process.

• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment used throughout the production process.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure all machines function correctly.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Manage and follow up on all logged plant breakdowns with meticulous planning.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine necessary repair procedures.
• Assemble, install, and proficiently learn the operation of new machinery.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Millwright within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong dual-trade skills in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
• Thorough familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
• Willingness to work alternating day and night shifts (07h00-17h00 and 18h00-06h00).

Remuneration

R12 000.00 - R25 000.00 CTC
