Job Description
Our client has an opportunity for a professional to join their team. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety, compliance with health regulations and environmental protection within the organisation.
Occupational Health & Safety- Maintain the SHE Management System and make initiate improvements
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA)
- Ensure correct use of PPE
- Ensure machinery safety compliance
- Monitor waste management/ effluent handling
- Ensure compliance with municipal and environmental permits
- Monitor hazardous waste disposal
- Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices align with food safety standards
- Participate in GMP Inspections
- Ensure correct zoning (high-risk, low-risk areas)
- Maintain SHE legal register
- Conduct internal SHE Audits
- Prepare for external audits (BRCGS, FSSC 22000, Other Audits)
- Develop and test emergency response plans, including fire drills
- Train fire marshals and first aiders
- National Diploma in Health and Safety Management or Equivalent
- 5-8 Years experience in a High Risk Manufacturing Environment
- BRCGS, FSSC 22000 and customer audits experience
- HIRA & Legal Liability Incident investigation
- Medical Aid
