Our client, a global leader in mining and industrial equipment solutions, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Johannesburg North office. This dual-function role combines traditional financial accounting with hands-on bookkeeping, ensuring that the finance function runs seamlessly while delivering accurate, actionable financial insights.
You will be the go-to person for the books, while also contributing to reporting, reconciliations, and analysis that informs business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full financial accounting function: Journals, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Perform daily bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare and maintain trial balances and month-end close processes
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Manage VAT, tax, and statutory compliance requirements
- Support audits and financial reviews
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
- Collaborate with operations and management to ensure accurate project and departmental reporting
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BCom Accounting / Finance or a relevant qualification
- 5+ years experience in financial accounting, including bookkeeping duties
- Experience in industrial, mining, or equipment sectors highly advantageous
- Strong Excel and accounting systems proficiency (SAP, MDA, or similar advantageous)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and reporting abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
