Duties & Responsibilities
  • Process cash, card, and electronic payments accurately.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and correct change to customers.
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Resolve customer queries and escalate complaints when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the checkout area.
  • Assist with stock packing, pricing, and merchandising when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Report shortages, discrepancies, or suspicious activity to management.
  • Promote store specials, loyalty programmes, and promotions where applicable.
  • Handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow all health, safety, and operational procedures.
Experience & Qualification
  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Previous cashier or retail experience advantageous.
  • Basic numeracy and computer skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high volumes of transactions.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Must be presentable and customer-service orientated.
