Financial manager / senior accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and oversee the migration of Excel-based pooling account models into Palbroker
• Manage and guide the finance team responsible for daily and transactional accounting tasks
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Monitor and control pooling accounts, grower payments, and related reconciliations
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Prepare key financial analysis to support business decision-making
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
• Strengthen and review internal controls and risk management processes
• Liaise with external auditors, ensuring readiness for audit and regulatory compliance
• Support ongoing evaluation and improvement of financial systems and processes
• Lead ad hoc financial projects, particularly focused on system upgrades and automation

REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of SAICA articles (essential)
• Minimum of 58 years post-articles experience in finance or accounting
• Strong working knowledge of pooling accounts and grower payment structures, preferably within the agricultural or export sectors
• Previous experience overseeing a finance or accounting team
• Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in financial modelling
• Experience with Palbroker or similar ERP/accounting systems (highly advantageous)
• Strong leadership, team development, and project management abilities
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate independently and manage tight deadlines
• Agricultural industry experience will be beneficial
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required
