Our Client in the Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Industry, based in Gauteng, is seeking a Sales Manager with previous experience in Business Development. The successful candidate MUST have Oil/Petroleum/Gas Industry experience.
Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for sales performance, maintaining and growing sales within the existing customer base and obtaining new sales from all other identified potential customers.
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to procedures on customer sales orders, specifications, pricing, payment terms and record keeping.
- Regular visits to allocated customers to build/maintain relationships and grow volumes.
- Gathering and reporting market information on allocated and new customers.
- Responsible for ensuring customers needs are met by obtaining the required support: technical, supply chain, pricing, credit management etc.
- Assistance with customer price management for existing customers
- Assistance with pricing for potential new customers
- Responsible for marketing of the divisions energy products to other existing and new customers formulating and growing a sales opportunity pipeline.
- Responsible for historical performance reviews and budgeting and forecasting for new sales performance targets.
- Assistance with customer credit management
Minimum Requirements
Diploma/Degree Sales/Technical
Essential:- 5 years work experience in a Sales/ Business Development and or Technical role
- Demonstrated working experience within the petroleum (oil, gas, lubricating oils) or chemicals and related industries. (boiler/fuel oil/heating systems)
- Ability to maintain existing customer relationships and successfully develop new customers in other industry sectors/hunter mindset.
- Passionate about customer service delivery
- Ability to learn and self-develop in this role, Goal Orientated
- Has a strategic approach to business development and market expansion. Preferable: 7. Working with customers directly, able to negotiate & close deals.
- Able to leverage of networking and industry associates.
- Working knowledge of supply agreements/contracts
- Technical skills: Understanding of; i) fuel systems, boilers, equipment, and installations.
- Budgeting processes
- Basic Logistics and Supply Chain processes
